WELCOME to the new home of the Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines where we will create more k-nnections and k-memories that will last forever!

After three years of waiting, the entire KCC family is very excited to meet again our K-culture supporters and partners in our new building, located at 59 Bayani Road, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. To mark this new building, KCC would like to thank everyone who joined us in our virtual launch party titled, “K-NNECTED FOREVER: THE KCC BUILDING LAUNCH,” last March 12 which were joined by more than 32,000 live viewers in KCC’s official Youtube account.

Hosted by the energetic and passionate Ms. Kring Kim and Mr. Kyungmin Kim, the online event successfully gave us an exciting virtual tour of the new KCC building with six floors of fun-filled activities for Korean culture, language, and K-pop; and also challenging K-Quests and raffle events…

[KREW Says] BTS meets ARMYs again face-to-face: Permission to Dance on Stage – Live Play in LA!

At last, the much-awaited face-to-face concert of BTS finally happened after two long years of waiting–and ARMYs were, of course, the happiest! BTS ended the drought with a four-night run of ‘BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – Live Play in LA’ offline concerts in SoFi Stadium, California on November 27-28 and December 1-2.

The in-person Los Angeles concerts were booked with 214,000 tickets from ARMYs coming from different sides of the world, grossing a whopping $33.3 million–recognized as the highest-grossing run of shows at a single venue in nearly a decade, according to a Billboard news article.

Join us for more Kolorful Adventures this October!

Kolorful ber-months kicked off last September, and the fun continues this month of October!

Last month, our K-Beauty stans gathered to watch the fifth episode of the ‘Along with K-Culture: Meet the K-Stans in the Philippines’ held virtually last September 10, wherein we were able to meet four K-Beauty experts who shared with us various Filipino and Korean skincare and makeup needs and solutions. 

We also celebrated the Phil-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival through its second online concert with the theme ‘We Stand Together’ on September 25. We were enticed by performances from various Filipino and Korean artists such as SB19, 4th Impact, Dasuri, ALAMAT, JinHo Bae, Mona Gonzales, TAGO, PWU Indayog Gong Ensemble, Byeong-in Park and Rachelle Gerodias; hosted by Catriona Gray, SB19 Justin, and Sam Oh. Filipino and Korean contestants showcased their vocal and dance talents through the online talent competitions in this event, as well.

Happy Korean National Foundation Day!

Korean National Foundation Day commemorates the founding of the first Korean kingdom known as the Gojoseon (Old Korea) in 2333 B.C. It was originally celebrated every third day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar, until it was officially turned into October 3 in the modern calendar in 1949. It is one of the most important holidays in Korea as it celebrates the legendary formation of Korea and its people. It is the 4,353rd birthday celebration of Korea this year!

Happy Chuseok, Everyone!

It’s the time of the year for Chuseok, one of the biggest and most important traditional celebrations in Korea, also known as the Korean Thanksgiving Day! 

Korean families gather to celebrate Chuseok every 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the largest full moon of the year comes up. Literally means “Autumn Eve,” Chuseok is a major mid-autumn harvest festival, rooted from Korea’s origins as an agricultural society and held around the autumn equinox where day and night are of equal length. It is a three-day holiday that is celebrated from September 20th to 22nd this year.

National Gugak Center & KCC Presents ‘Gugak in (人) Project’

Music. Nature. Art. The National Gugak Center, in partnership with the Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines, has brought us to the world of Korean traditional music (Gugak) and the wonders of Korean sceneries in its Gugak in (人) Project. This showcases an online performance series which aims to support traditional Korean performance artists and organizations during these trying times. The video series, which were released every Sunday throughout the month of August, highlighted the beauty of Korean music and landscapes. Let us take a glimpse at the four (4) performances!

KOREA AT HOME: October Edition (It’s Healing Month!)

Welcome to the Octoberrific celebration with more dancing, more cooking, more learning, and more healing in another brand new Korea At Home (KAH) this month! We also had the triple celebration of Chuseok or the Korean Thanksgiving Day, Korean National Foundation Day (Gaecheonjeol), and Hangeul Day or the Korean Alphabet Day this autumn October.

The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) of the Philippines wrapped up last September with memorable experiences and winning moments of our Korean culture enthusiasts from the K-Quizbee, KAH Art Contest, K-Safe Dance Challenge, and the Philippine leg of 2020 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival.

[KREW Says] “Bang Bang Con: The Live” BTS’ Multi-View Live Home Concert

The month of June has become a special time of celebration for the famed Korean boy group BTS and their fans around the world. It includes two major events, FESTA – BTS’ debut anniversary celebration and MUSTER – a fan event that mustered BTS’ troops known as the ARMY.

On June 14, Big Hit Entertainment hosted “Bang Bang Con: The Live,” a streamed concert that reportedly drew 756,000 paid viewers in 107 countries and territories. This is said to be equivalent to 15 stadiums’ worth of audience, thus, making it the largest paid online music event in history.

KOREA AT HOME: September Edition (Come Join the Fun!)

We had a blast last August with our Korea At Home experience thanks to KCC’s fun activities! It was really a cool way to end summer. Now, we’re back with its newest installment as we welcome the cold –ber months and the romantic K-drama feels of autumn in Korea. 

Last month, many Korean culture enthusiasts participated in our K-Quizbee and reminisced with us in the Pinoy Kpop Star Rewind. We enjoyed various traditional Korean arts and music performances, museum and art commentaries, and K-drama reviews, too. We also learned basic Korean Hangeul and got to know the ingredients for preparing Korean summer treats.

This September, the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) has prepared another exciting set of educational and entertaining Korean activities with just one click away!
